You might not think you'll make it, but you'll make it!

Big A first day of VPK It's back to school around these parts and my little guy started VPK (pre-kindergarten) on Monday.  He was so excited, we have been talking about going to VPK for 6 months now.  He has watched his older brother get on the school bus for the past 4 years to go to school.  He has waited patiently for his turn to go to school.  Yesterday was his first day.  We walked him to his class, looked around, showed him his cubby, gave kisses and left.  Today we repeated the same routine and I joyfully skipped back home for 3 hours of "me" time.  That is until I received a phone call from a friend that has a son in Aaron's class.  She said that when she left he was crying and attempts from his teacher to console him weren't working. My first instinct is to run up to the school and console him myself.  Or I could call, or I could just pick him up for the day, but then I remembered a story that my mom told me about my middle sister's first day o

What? From January 2010

I've worn the same cardigan for about, um, 4 days in a row now. I'm not completely too far gone, I've changed the shirts underneath. But it is so frickin' cold here, in FLORIDA. And my party-cardi keeps me warm. Months ago, I wrote about my boys making it snow in Florida. We had sleet last weekend. It has been literally FREEZING at night for the past few weeks. Snow was in the forecast. Oh, and I made the mistake of calling sleet, hail. My bad. I've lived in Florida my whole life and haven't experienced sleet before. I'd like to not experience it again. BTW, what do people do when it is cold outside for months? Do you stay inside all winter? I can't imagine being outside more that it takes to check the mail. Just wondering. Stinky Pete and The Funky Bunch at Stone Mountain. We went to Atlanta for Thanksgiving. it was good times. It was cold there too, but I stayed warm. My mom has heated mattress pads for the beds. My mom rocks. Seriously... We rocke

Thanksgiving in Atlanta 2012

Thanksgiving 2012 - Atlanta, GA  We headed home to Atlanta for Thanksgiving with mom, dad and Michelle.  This time, Gunner was allowed to come too!!  My sister Andrea spent Thanksgiving with her boyfriend's family and we missed her terribly.  We had Thanksgiving dinner a day early because we had to leave Thursday to go to the Super NIT at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports for The Outlaws.

Hey Batter, Batter!

It is officially baseball season in the sunshine state!  Tonight is opening day for my sweet Aaron.  He has waited patiently on the sideline for his turn to walk across the senior field on opening day.  This season he is on the A-ball Rays (coach pitch ).  I will have to post pictures of him, their first game is tomorrow. Cole's travel baseball team kicked off their season in January so no rest for the weary.  He plays in a tournament twice a month and we have a weekend off every month, so at least we get a break.  I am going to post a list of things, helpful hints for the new travel ball parents.  It is certainly a different world from rec baseball to travel baseball.
